Selection Considerations

  1. An alumni must have graduated from GCISD for at least ten (10) years prior to their nomination.
  2. Walk of Honor distinction may be made posthumously.
  3. Any individual nominee shall have lived an exemplary life.
  4. The induction ceremony will take place at the Walk of Honor annual event. Permanent recognition will be displayed at Mustang-Panther Stadium.
  5. The selection committee will submit no more than ten (10) finalists each year for consideration by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors has the authority to accept as many of these finalists up to the maximum allowed per year.
  6. Once a team or individual is legitimately nominated but not selected, then that nomination will carry forward for consideration in subsequent years.
  7. The Board of Directors will select up to a maximum of eight (8) new inductees per year at their sole discretion.
  8. Grapevine-Colleyville ISD has a history of over 100 years. The Board of Directors and the Selection Committee will give special consideration to this and keep a fair and balanced approach to ensure each time span of GCISD’s history is given fair recognition in this Walk of Honor.
  9. The Board of Directors and the Selection Committee membership will be composed in such a fashion to ensure fair and balanced recognition of each of our cities, each of our schools and each category of nominees.
  10. Each of the foregoing considerations are publicized in order to ensure that guidelines are in place that provide a standard approach to the selection process year to year. However, it should be noted that future changes may be made to facilitate an orderly, fair and representative process that is based on future experiences in this selection process.
